@ 5:00 PMSummer kickoff concert, dinner and mead tasting
A summer kickoff concert like no other at Ægir’s Den Meadery in Palermo, Maine on Saturday, May 30 at 5 p.m. Ægir’s Den Meadery bases each bottle of its delectable beverages on local honey from hives in Jay, Sidney, Albion and Pittsfield, Maine. From there, a few of Ægir’s finished offerings include Metheglin (mead aged with spices), Melomel (mead aged with fruit), Acerglyn (mead aged with maple syrup) and Cyser (mead aged using apple cider, hand pressed from a local holistic orchard). In addition to mead, Ægir’s will also be offering home cooked and delicious a la carte dinner options on the night of the concert. What’s in a name? In Norse mythology Ægir (EYE-gir) is the Lord of the Ocean. He and his wife Ran are the rulers of all the seas in the nine worlds and live in a great hall beneath the ocean, where they host magnificent feasts for the Gods.
