Clara Rottsolk sings a collection of Broadside Ballads and Art Songs from Colonial America, newly arranged for soprano and piano trio, as well as “The Congress”, an original work for the same ensemble by Bill Robinson based upon a counter-revolutionary text by Rev. Jonathan Odell from 1776. The program continues with two piano trios from the 20th century: Amy Beach’s romantic/impressionistic work from 1938 and Café Music, ˆ Schoenfeld’s boundary-crossing classic from 1987.
